Ecommerce Development & Migration

Ecommerce migration and development without losing data or rankings.

We plan, build and migrate ecommerce stores on Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce — with the product catalog, integrations and SEO treated as the core of the project, not an afterthought.

From replatforming strategy to launch day and beyond.

Most migrations fail on data, not design.

A new theme is the easy part. The risk sits in the catalog, the URLs and the systems connected to the store.

  • Product attributes flattened into descriptions during import
  • Variants and options rebuilt by hand
  • Rankings lost to missing or broken redirects
  • ERP, inventory and order integrations rebuilt late
  • Customer accounts and order history left behind
  • A catalog that is harder to manage than before

We migrate the data model first, then the storefront.

Ecommerce platforms we build and migrate

Your PIM should power your store — not compete with it. Every build is designed to receive product data from a single source of truth.

Store development, migration, integrations and PIM connectivity.

  • Theme and storefront development

Ecommerce planning before you commit

The cheapest time to fix a replatforming decision is before it is made.

Many businesses choose a platform first and discover the constraints later — attribute limits, variant caps, B2B pricing gaps, or integrations that need expensive workarounds.

Our ecommerce planning phase audits your current store, catalog and integrations, turns requirements into a comparison of suitable platforms, and produces a migration plan with sequencing, risks, SEO safeguards and a realistic budget.

You leave with a plan you can execute with us or anyone else.

Planning deliverables

  • Current store and catalog audit
  • Requirements and integration map
  • Platform comparison and recommendation
  • Data mapping specification
  • URL and redirect strategy
  • Phased migration and launch plan

What we migrate

Everything the business depends on — not just products and images.

01

Products & variants

Products, options, variants, attributes, bundles and relationships mapped to the new platform's model.

02

Categories & collections

Category trees rebuilt for navigation, filtering and search rather than copied blindly.

03

Images & documents

Product images, alt text, spec sheets and manuals linked to the right products.

04

Customers & orders

Customer accounts, addresses and order history so repeat customers aren't starting over.

05

SEO & redirects

URL mapping, 301 redirects, titles, meta descriptions and structured data preserved and improved.

06

Integrations

ERP, PIM, inventory, shipping, payments and marketing tools reconnected and tested.

How an ecommerce migration runs

Simple migrations take four to eight weeks; complex catalogs and B2B stores typically take three to six months.

01

Plan

Audit, requirements, platform choice, data mapping and redirect strategy.

02

Build

Storefront, catalog model, integrations and a repeatable data migration pipeline.

03

Rehearse

Test migrations, redirect checks and side-by-side validation before cut-over.

04

Launch & monitor

Go live, then monitor crawl errors, rankings, conversion and integrations.

Catalog messy before you move? Pair the migration with product data cleansing and enrichment or a PIM implementation so the new store starts clean.

Ecommerce migration FAQs

Will we lose search rankings when we migrate platforms?
Not if the migration is planned for it. We map every product, category and content URL to its new address, set up 301 redirects, carry over titles, meta and structured data, and monitor crawl errors and rankings after launch.
Which platforms do you migrate between?
Most commonly Magento (Adobe Commerce), WooCommerce, BigCommerce, custom platforms and spreadsheets-plus-storefront setups moving to Shopify, WooCommerce or BigCommerce. The destination is chosen on catalog, integration and cost requirements, not preference.
What data gets migrated?
Products, variants, categories, images, customers, order history, reviews, redirects and content pages — plus the product attributes that often get lost when a catalog is squeezed into a new platform's default fields.
Can you help us plan before we commit to a platform?
Yes. Ecommerce planning is often the most valuable phase: we audit the current store, catalog and integrations, define requirements, compare platforms and produce a migration plan with risks and sequencing before any build starts.
How long does an ecommerce migration take?
Simple migrations can be done in four to eight weeks. Stores with large catalogs, B2B pricing, ERP integration or custom functionality typically take three to six months. We phase launches to reduce risk.
Do you connect the store to our PIM and ERP?
Yes — that is where we differ from theme-first agencies. The store is built to receive product data from your PIM or ERP rather than becoming another place where product information is edited by hand.
